Major pollie presence at Print to Parliament

11 Oct 2018 |  Paul Brescia   |   Comment Now

Registrations are closing shortly for Print to Parliament, taking place on Wednesday October 17, due to the need to clear each guest with security.

The PIAA-organised event will display the best works of print from the past year in Parliament House, including winners from the National Print Awards.

Some 60 politicians have RSVP’d to attend, including Mitch Fifield, who is responsible to Australia Post, Michaelia Cash, responsible for Small and Family Business, Jobs, and Industrial Relations, and Angus Taylor, responsible for Energy under the new Morrison government.

Tanya Plibersek, deputy Opposition leader, has also indicated she will be attending.

Andrew Macaulay, CEO, PIAA, says, “Every minister who impacts our industry is coming, including their opposition numbers. It is stacking up as a great opportunity for printers to be heard, and to state their case.

“Half of the Federal Cabinet will be attending, and printers will be in a position to talk to politicians. We want to let them hear from printers, and the more that attend, the better.”

Tickets are priced at $1000, which Macaulay says is typical of an event featuring access to the nation’s decision makers. Members of the PIAA are able to attend for free.
